Exercise is addictive! It doesn't matter if it’s a 5k run, a swim session, or a 200km bike if you gotta do it, you’ve gotta do it!
Don’t know about you, but I get super grumpy if I don’t exercise for a few days, even a day, Chloe, my wife basically kicks me out of the house as she can’t stand being around me if I’ve not done some activity.
Even if I really can’t be arsed… What’s the saying…
“you only regret the workouts you don't do”
It’s so true, even when I was at the peak of training for my first Ironman, I was sore from the day before, I’d clocked up 20 hours training already, I knew I needed to get out there, even if it was a quick 30 mins & I felt better when I got back!
Now I’ve missed sessions, had a cheeky beer & BBQ instead (and enjoyed them) but I regretted not fitting in a quick session beforehand.
There’s no real point to this blog post, just some ramblings of a middle-aged, age-grouper, so to summerise, I think what I’m trying to say is, regardless of your fitness levels or ambitions - get out there, go and enjoy a ride, walk, run, swim, gym session or whatever makes you feel good…
It makes you feel less guilty when you have that BBQ & Beer!
Cheers
